Greenheart Projects

Host a Greenheart Project and leave a positive impact in the communities where our J-1 visa participants work and live.

    • Better the world through service and develop deeper connections with J-1 participants and host communities.
  • At Greenheart Exchange, we believe in providing a cultural exchange experience that blends service learning and volunteerism. Hosting a Greenheart Project is a great opportunity for host organizations to get involved in volunteerism and in our mission to create community of compassionate and conscious global leaders.

A Greenheart Project is a service project completed by host organizations and their J-1 Summer Work and Travel participants. Greenheart Projects are a great way for host organizations to be recognized for their volunteer efforts and ideal for introducing staff to the Greenheart Club.

    Why Host a Greenheart Project?

    • Greenheart Projects not only better the world through service but help J-1 participants develop deeper connections with their employers, coworkers, and host communities.
    • Enrich the exchange experience with the American tradition of volunteerism while your business gives back to the community in a positive way.
    • Help participants and staff fulfill our commitment to being “The Greenheart of Cultural Exchange” by cleaning beaches, hosting clothing drives, working on reforestation projects, and volunteering at recycling centers.

    Going Greenheart Tour

Greenheart staff hit the road on Going Greenheart Tours to visit participants, host organizations, government representatives, and other program stakeholders. During these trips, we complete Greenheart Projects with community organizations. Check out the 2016 Going Greenheart Tour destinations to learn more about past and future Greenheart Projects.
