Part-Time Program Assistant

What we’re looking for:
We are looking for someone who will assist with our Greenheart Travel Teach English Abroad programs around the world. As the Program Assistant, you will support Program Managers with administrative tasks, while contributing to our personal, friendly and professional customer service approach for our participants.

Your primary role will be to conduct video Skype screening interviews for Teach Abroad program applicants during our high volume application period. You should have a friendly, outgoing demeanor with the ability to answer questions confidently and explain the details of the programs we have.

This is an entry level, temporary administrative position.

Things you might do as the Program Assistant:

  • Conduct video Skype interviews and screening for Teach English Abroad program applicants
  • Assist Teach & Work Abroad Program Managers with administrative tasks, including:
    – Assembling and mailing pre-departure packets to participants
    – Reviewing and processing application
    – Answering inquiry emails
    – Assisting with lead and Salesforce database management
  • Assist with general office duties, including answering phones
  • Stay informed of political developments and other factors that affect travel and safety in destination countries, in order to best advise participants interested in traveling to the same
  • Work on special projects as needed
  • Think outside the box and have a firm grasp on the big picture of our competitive position within our industry

Qualifications:

  • Travel experience (experience studying, living or teaching abroad highly preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (in progress okay – current students welcome!)
  • Administrative experience and/or customer service experience
  • Dedication to cultural exchange, travel and a passion for learning about other cultures
  • Proactive, diligent, positive & creative self-starter with exceptional ability to learn quickly
  • Great work ethic and excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and to work in a fast-paced environment

While performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. You would be required the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and sit or stand as necessary. You would also be required to view a computer screen for long periods of time.

Compensation: $13.00 per hour

Program Assistant

Within CCI Greenheart, the Work and Travel (WT) Department has J-1 designation by the U.S. Department of State to bring international university students to the United States on a cultural exchange program that allows them to work for a period of eight weeks to four months. CCI Greenheart’s WT program is dedicated to extending the mission of cultural understanding, environmental consciousness and world peace by connecting enthusiastic international students and American Host Organizations. As the only environmentally conscious J-1 visa sponsor, we pride ourselves on providing a quality experience while encouraging and enabling CCI Greenheart staff, participants, and Host Organizations to work together on projects that promote environmentalism and sustainability.

What we’re looking for:
The Work and Travel Department is looking to hire temporary staff to provide support to its team in the Services division.
The following job duties are examples of items Program Assistants may be responsible for:

  • Interview Work & Travel participants on Skype to determine candidacy for program and English proficiency.
  • Recommend participants to host organizations, based on interests and qualifications.
  • Assist in preparations for local and overseas recruitment events.
  • Service as in-country support to Direct Placement Program Participants

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university

Part-Time Fair Trade Sales Associate

Regional Manager Position – J-1 High School Program

Type of Position: Part-time salary employee
Hours: 20+ hours/week
Location: Work from home
CCI Greenheart is seeking individuals with previous work experience as a, Area Coordinator, Regional Manager/Director or similar level within a cultural exchange organization. Applicants without prior experience in the industry will not be considered. (If that is the case, please consider CCI Greenheart’s independent contractor Local Coordinator position.) CCI Greenheart has J-1 visa designation by the U.S. Department of State to bring international high school students to the United States through our High School Programs, to live with volunteer host families. The Regional Manager position is a crucial leadership position within the High School Programs department, by supervising a team of 10-20 Local Coordinators, and 25-50+ exchange students every year.Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Build and supervise a team of Local Coordinators (independent contractors) to facilitate the placing of exchange students with volunteer host families, who will attend high school for a semester or full academic year.
  • Lead the regional team of field staff to ensure timely placement of all students assigned to the region, and that the proper documentation for the placement has been supplied through CCI Greenheart’s database.
  • Create a development plan for the region, which includes a regional training meeting for LCs.
  • Maintain compliance with Department of State regulations by providing the necessary documentation via the database for all students placed in the region (proper host families, host family information forms and school permission forms, contact logs, etc)
  • Work closely with the staff in the Chicago office through regular email, phone, and skype communication.

Skills:

  • Must have previous experience working with a cultural exchange organization (J-1 international high school students)
  • Ability to lead and guide a dispersed team
  • Self-motivated, creative and organized
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Outgoing personality and enthusiasm for international exchange

Summer Group Coordinator – Short-term Groups and Homestays

CCI Greenheart seeks candidates in suburbs of major to mid-size cities to coordinate short-term Group Homestay Programs. We are open to programs throughout the US, but are actively seeking coordinators for summer 2016 groups in suburban areas (up to two hours from downtown) of the following cities:

On the Group Homestay Program, approximately 10 – 20 international high school students come to the United States for a 2-4 week period with the goal of improving their English and getting to know American culture. ESL Student Recruiter – Greenheart English Camp

Greenheart English Camp is a three week ESL summer camp designed exclusively for international teenagers with at least 2 years of English experience. Recruiters refer and provide initial screening to potential applicants and can receive a cash incentive for each student who is accepted and attends the program.

Marketing and Outreach Intern
