CCI Greenheart is designated by the U.S. Department of State to sponsor the J-1 Intern and Trainee programs. We call this department the Career Advancement Program (CAP). These programs enable international university students and foreign professionals to participate on a cultural exchange program, interning or training at an American business in order to further the U.S.’ public diplomacy goals.

The role of the CAP Director is to exercise their passion for the cultural exchange industry through collaboration with staff and stakeholders, while building relationships. This is an opportunity to connect current and recent University students and business professionals with their dream professional development placement in the United States. The Director will be in charge of day-to-day operations as well as creating a long-term vision for the Department. Working closely with department staff and our VP of International Exchange, the Program Director should enthusiastically approach the following responsibilities:

  • Manage and cheerlead a cohesive team of experienced and successful compliance, administrative, and outreach staff
  • Collaborate with VP of International Exchange to ensure proper year-round program organizational flow for all stakeholders
  • Lead annual contracting process with sending partners, including price negotiations, to ensure allotment of spaces from Department of State is fully allocated and monitor number of candidates sent/expected in order to detect trends
  • Analyze weekly numbers to ensure the team is on track to meeting quarterly benchmarks
  • Recruit American host organizations that are willing to hire our international participants to their companies. This will be the launch of our new “Full Program” option.
  • Create unique marketing campaigns in collaboration with staff
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with U.S. immigration attorneys, international universities and U.S./multi-national organizations
  • Become familiar with and oversee/manage current database enhancements for the Department
  • Diplomatically intervene and resolve issues that arise with participants on programs and host organizations
  • Oversee review and approval of DS-7002 T/IPP (Training Internship Placement Plan forms) for program sponsorship
  • Represent CAP department at industry events and conferences around the United States
  • Be willing and able to work in the Chicago offices of Greenheart International

Some qualifications you should have:

  • Extensive travel experience required, with a clear dedication to cultural exchange and a passion for learning about other cultures
  • Professional with 5+ years of experience required, 3+ years of which are in a supervisory position

F-1 Program Assistant

Within CCI Greenheart, the F-1 High School Program Department gives international high school students the opportunity to come to the U.S. and attend a public or private school for one semester up to multiple years on an F-1 visa. Students typically live with an American host family during the program, though some students live in residences. CCI Greenheart provides placement with a school and host family, medical insurance, local supervision, and counseling and emergency support. As the only non-profit, eco-conscious student exchange organization, we pride ourselves on providing a quality experience by encouraging and enabling Greenheart staff, participants, Local Coordinators, and host families to work together on projects that promote environmentalism and sustainability.

What we’re looking for:

The F-1 High School High School Program Department is seeking support staff that can assist with administrative processes, as well as projects and other ongoing tasks.

Some things you might do as an Program Assistant:

  • Learn and understand operations of dynamic and engaging exchange programs for high school age students coming to the U.S.
  • Utilize our custom database
  • Provide administrative support and ensuring compliance of program standards and regulations by reviewing participant applications, on program documentation, tracking missing documents
  • Organizing email blasts, mailings, and answering phones
  • Support with tasks and projects as they arise
  • Assist with creating content for blog posts, marketing material and other communications
  • Ensure all school marketing materials are kept up-to-date
  • Support our alumni and volunteer service initiatives though participant outreach

Qualifications you should have:

Within CCI Greenheart, the Work and Travel (WT) Department has J-1 designation by the U.S. Department of State to bring international university students to the United States on a cultural exchange program that allows them to work for a period of eight weeks to four months. CCI Greenheart’s WT program is dedicated to extending the mission of cultural understanding, environmental consciousness and world peace by connecting enthusiastic international students and American Host Organizations. The Work and Travel Department is looking to hire temporary staff to provide support to its team in the Services division.

The Outreach Coordinator will work on developing new and reinforcing existing partnerships with universities and high schools by leveraging relationships of our alumni (Greenheart Travel’s program participants). This role will also be responsible for maintaining our alumni network by providing opportunities for mentorship, developing professional development resources, and maintaining a network of campus ambassadors. Furthermore, Greenheart Travel is working to build its name in the Chicago area; the person in this role will be attending and hosting local networking events & conferences. Ultimately, this role is intended to bring new participants to Greenheart Travel’s programs through getting in front of potential participants and developing meaningful partnerships with alumni and schools. It will require personal engagement with alumni and persistence. The Outreach Coordinator will be required to explain the details of the programs we have and inspire interested teachers/administrators/alumni to bring our programs to their networks.

Greenheart Travel is growing rapidly, so we’re looking for someone who is highly adaptable and able to actively contribute to new ideas, growth and constant improvement. We have a small staff, and each person wears many hats, and our roles are constantly evolving. Every staff member has input in the brainstorming and direction of our department.

Summer Group Coordinator – Short-term Groups and Homestays

Internship & Volunteer Opportunities

Summer II Marketing and Outreach Intern

Type of Position: 3 Month Summer Internship

The Work and Travel department within CCI Greenheart is dedicated to providing cultural exchange opportunities for international university students who come to the United States to work entry-level position during their academic break. Through its partnerships with several host organizations and international agencies, Work and Travel is able to sponsor over 6,000 international students each year.

Duties:
Responsibilities of the Intern may include, but are not limited to:

  • Research community information and track testimonials
  • Update Job Fair Handbooks as well as other marketing materials
  • Assist in updating the website
  • Assist with social media platforms to ensure they are up-to-date and on trend
  • Research methods of interacting with stakeholders on social media outlets (i.e.: Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Snapchat)
  • Track consumer behavior through Google Analytics and mass emails
  • Edit and draft blog postings to WordPress site
  • Assist in updating and photo gallery
  • Assist with the execution and follow up for various trips
  • Assist with any urgent and unexpected items
  • Perform an occasional data entry

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in progress or higher. Candidates who are studying in International Education, and/or Marketing and Outreach are preferred.

Greenheart Travel Internship for Teach English & Work Abroad Programs

Type: Unpaid internship, temporary, 12 weeks with possible extension for an additional 10 weeks

Start Date: ASAPThe Greenheart Travel Volunteer Intern will assist management and staff with data entry, interviewing candidates, phones, and various other administrative duties. Some of the intern’s duties may include, and are not limited to, the following:Program Coordination
