CAP Program Director

CCI Greenheart is designated by the U.S. Department of State to sponsor the J-1 Intern and Trainee programs. We call this department the Career Advancement Program (CAP). These programs enable international university students and foreign professionals to participate on a cultural exchange program, interning or training at an American business in order to further the U.S.’ public diplomacy goals.

The role of the CAP Director is to exercise their passion for the cultural exchange industry through collaboration with staff and stakeholders, while building relationships. This is an opportunity to connect current and recent University students and business professionals with their dream professional development placement in the United States. The Director will be in charge of day-to day-operations as well as creating a long-term vision for the Department.

What we’re looking for:
Working closely with department staff and our VP of International Exchange, the Program Director should enthusiastically approach the following responsibilities:

  • Manage and cheerlead a cohesive team of experienced and successful compliance, administrative, and outreach staff
  • Collaborate with VP of International Exchange to ensure proper year-round program organizational flow for all stakeholders
  • Become familiar with and oversee/manage current database rewrite for the Department
  • Manage Operations and Administrative processes, program invoicing, and payment processing
  • Diplomatically intervene and resolve issues that arise with participants on programs
  • Oversee review and approval of DS-7002 T/IPP (Training Internship Placement Plan forms) for program sponsorship
  • Recruit American host organizations that are willing to hire our international participants to their companies. This will be the launch of our new “Full Program” option, offered mostly to Mexican participants.
  • Create unique marketing campaigns in collaboration with staff
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with U.S. immigration attorneys, international universities and U.S./multi-national organizations
  • Represent CAP department at industry events and conferences around the United States
  • Be willing and able to work in the Chicago offices of Greenheart International

Qualifications:

  • Extensive travel experience required, with a clear dedication to cultural exchange and a passion for learning about other cultures
  • Professional with 5+ years of experience required, 3+ years of which are in a supervisory position
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Proven track record of business growth and development required
  • Ability to work independently, flexibly, efficiently, and with a keen attention to detail is a must

What we’re looking for:
We are looking for someone who will assist our Greenheart Travel Marketing Manager in creating content and sharing our travel opportunities with a dynamic and diverse audience. The ideal candidate will have experience using a variety of social media platforms and sites, and know how to listen and engage with an online community. We’re looking for a great writer, amazing storyteller, enthusiastic traveler and passionate supporter of anyone looking to get out of their comfort zone and travel abroad. Experience in blogging, social media management and photo and video editing is important.

Greenheart Travel is growing rapidly, so we’re looking for someone who is also highly adaptable and able to actively contribute to new ideas, growth and constant improvement. We have a small staff, and each person wears many hats, and our roles are constantly evolving. Every staff member has input in the brainstorming and direction of our department.

Some things you might do as the Marketing Assistant:

  • Assist marketing manager’s efforts by creating and publishing content based on the marketing calendar outline
  • Responsible for monthly e-newsletters, promotional e-blasts and in-house organizational emails
  • Help with our Greenheart Travel blog outreach through writing, editing and optimizing alumni and staff articles
  • Assist with social media outreach and content creation on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat
  • Lead program webinars through online platforms like GoToMeeting, etc.
  • Edit and post long and shortform video content as needed
  • Assist marketing manager with online advertising listings and promotions as needed
  • Assist program managers during peak sales times with participant Skype interviews
  • Connect with Greenheart Travel participants and alumni to share their stories from their travel adventures with our online community
  • Assist with additional administrative tasks as needed

External Relations Assistant

The role of the External Relations is to assist the Vice President of International Exchange. This individual must exercise their passion for the cultural exchange industry through collaboration with staff and stakeholders, while building relationships. ‘External Relations’ refers to both public relations, as well as Government relations. What we’re looking for:
The External Relations Assistant should enthusiastically approach the following responsibilities:

  • Advocacy: Assisting VP of International Exchange establish meaningful external relationships with leaders (elected and appointed) and their staff, and the media
  • Coordinating visits, meetings, and events that highlight exchange programs for key people
  • Messaging via press releases, op-eds, pamphlets, etc.
  • In cooperation with the VP of International Exchange, identifying which policy positions resonate with whom and why, and communicating those positions effectively; Tying engagement with success metrics
  • Liaison with other departments to ensure that right internal staff is involved, consulted, and engaged
  • General: Assisting VP of International Exchange with:
  • Managing meeting and travel schedule and preparation
  • General organization (administrative) and research
  • Program development: updating stakeholder materials and communication; drafting new program development proposals and applications
  • Assistance with coordination of ordering of office supplies aesthetic updates, phone system, common area reservations, etc. for the area where VP works from

Regional Manager Position – J-1 High School Program

Type of Position: Part-time salary employee
Hours: 20+ hours/week
Location: Work from home
CCI Greenheart is seeking individuals with previous work experience as a, Area Coordinator, Regional Manager/Director or similar level within a cultural exchange organization. Applicants without prior experience in the industry will not be considered. (If that is the case, please consider CCI Greenheart’s independent contractor Local Coordinator position.) CCI Greenheart has J-1 visa designation by the U.S. Department of State to bring international high school students to the United States through our High School Programs, to live with volunteer host families. The Regional Manager position is a crucial leadership position within the High School Programs department, by supervising a team of 10-20 Local Coordinators, and 25-50+ exchange students every year.Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Build and supervise a team of Local Coordinators (independent contractors) to facilitate the placing of exchange students with volunteer host families, who will attend high school for a semester or full academic year.
  • Lead the regional team of field staff to ensure timely placement of all students assigned to the region, and that the proper documentation for the placement has been supplied through CCI Greenheart’s database.
  • Create a development plan for the region, which includes a regional training meeting for LCs.
  • Maintain compliance with Department of State regulations by providing the necessary documentation via the database for all students placed in the region (proper host families, host family information forms and school permission forms, contact logs, etc)
  • Work closely with the staff in the Chicago office through regular email, phone, and skype communication.

Skills:

  • Must have previous experience working with a cultural exchange organization (J-1 international high school students)
  • Ability to lead and guide a dispersed team
  • Self-motivated, creative and organized
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Summer Group Coordinator – Short-term Groups and Homestays

ESL Student Recruiter – Greenheart English Camp

Greenheart English Camp is a three week ESL summer camp designed exclusively for international teenagers with at least 2 years of English experience. Recruiters refer and provide initial screening to potential applicants and can receive a cash incentive for each student who is accepted and attends the program.

Marketing and Outreach Intern
