H2B Program Information for Employers
Employer Requirements
- In order to attain certification, an employer needs to be able to prove a seasonal, peakload, intermittent or one-time need that does not exceed 10 months.
- The participants must be paid prevailing wage for the position that they are filling. This information can be attained from the State Employment Agency (CCI will assist you with this).
Employer Responsibilities
- Full time work: H2B employers are required to provide their international participants with full-time (at least 30 hours per week) work, at a competitive wage, for the length of their visa (4-10 months).
- Identify housing: H2B employers are asked to source housing that is affordable and is accessible to public transportation from which the international participants can travel to and from work. The employer should find housing that is no more than 30% of the international participants’ anticipated monthly earnings. The employer is not required to provide housing but should provide detailed information about housing options in the area. CCI would also ask that the employer supply the international participants with temporary housing leads.
Who are the H2B International Participants?
CCI has long lasting relationships with overseas sending partners worldwide. Currently, we are working with six different countries on our H2B visa. The participants from these countries are 18-35 year old and have varying skills and education backgrounds. The international participants are screened for the English proficiency that is required for the position for which they apply. CCI, in cooperation with our overseas sending partners, carefully screen each applicant’s English, motivation and attitude in order to provide the employer with the right person for the job. Employers will also be given the opportunity to travel overseas to interview the participants directly.
How much is this going to cost my company?
CCI requires a retainer fee of $100 per participant placed on the petition which is fully refundable upon the arrival of all of your participants. Potentially, this program could be a free service to the employer! If an employer were to petition for 25 or more participants on one petition, CCI would reimburse the legal fees and the government filing fees to the employer upon the participants’ arrival.
If an employer were to petition for 50 or more participants on one petition, CCI would reimburse the legal fees and the government filing fees to the employer upon the participants’ arrival. CCI and our cooperating overseas sending partner would ALSO organize and pay for a recruiting trip to you country of choice (the employer can choose from one of the countries that CCI is working with to recruit H2B participants). CCI will cover flights, hotel accommodation, meals, organized meeting space, and a day excursion led by the overseas sending partner. Please know that CCI will still assist the employer with travel plans to interview the potential participants overseas, should the employer request this service.
