Become a Volunteer
Internship Program Employer
CCI's Volunteer Internship Program provides Chicago-area businesses with the opportunity to have an international university student intern with them for 1 to 4 months.
If you are an employer willing to provide an educational experience to a bright, energetic international student, the Volunteer Internship program is right for you.
Why hire CCI's volunteer interns?
Can my industry hire interns?
Participants
are introduced to the American business culture by
interning in their choice of one of the following
fields:
- General Business
- Marketing
- Accounting/Finance
- Information Technology
- Environmental Studies
What do interns do? Where do they live?
- Positions and
responsibilities will vary according to the education
and work experience of the applicant, but participants
can expect to work 35-40 hours per week on a volunteer
basis in their field of interest.
- Sample job duties include general office work such as special projects, data entry, interacting with customers and working on research projects.
- CCI will assist participants to secure housing in a dormitory or hostel, or with a host family, in a location accessible to their internship via public transportation.
How are interns screened?
- CCI’s partner organizations abroad interview participants to ensure an upper intermediate level of English and current enrollment in a university in the home country.
- All participants must complete an application form, including a resume, letter to employer, proof of English level, and letter of reference, all of which is made available for review by potential employers.
