FLEX and YES Programs

CCI is designated to administer the FLEX and YES scholarship programs, both sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, for international high school exchange students. The Department of State recognizes that youth exchange is a key component to building bridges between citizens of the U.S. and countries around the world.

The Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX)FLEX program

FLEX was established in 1992 to provide an opportunity for high school students from the countries of the former Soviet Union to experience life in a democratic society in order to promote democratic values and institutions in Eurasia.

Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES)logo_YES-2010

Established in October 2002, in response to the events of September 11, 2001, the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (KL-YES) program provides scholarships for high school students from countries with significant Muslim populations to spend up to one academic year in the U.S.
