High School Abroad Application Instructions

Please refer to the checklist included in the application to ensure your application is complete.

Deposit & Payment:

• $500 non-refundable deposit due with application by or before application deadline (applied toward program fee)
• Late applications require a $1,500 non-refundable deposit
• First payment of $1,500 due within 15 days after acceptance
• Remaining balance due 60 days before departure
• All deposits are non-refundable if student cancels his or her program at any time
• If student is not accepted to the program for any reason the deposit will be refunded less a $75 application processing fee
• Deposits and payments may be processed over the phone with a credit card (Visa/MasterCard/Discover) or by check sent via regular mail

High School Abroad General Application ages 15-18 (all countries but Spain)

Volunteer Abroad Application Instructions

Please include the following materials to ensure your application is complete:

• Application form filled out in blue/black ink
• Conditions of participation agreement (included in application form)
• $250 non-refundable deposit (see Deposit & Payment section below)
• Letter of motivation - one page or less, explaining why you wish to participate in this program
• Cover Letter - addressed to volunteer project in host country's language describing the type of project you are seeking and highlighting skills/experience relating to the project
• Letter to future host family - in host country's language (N/A for programs with on site housing)
• 1-3 photos of you with family or friends
• Copy of the photo page of your passport

• $250 non-refundable deposit due with the application
• Remaining balance due 30 days before program start date
• Applications received less than 30 days before the start of the program require full program fee with the application
• Deposit is non-refundable if participant cancels his or her program at any time
• Deposit and payments may be processed over the phone with a credit card (Visa/MasterCard/Discover) or by check sent via regular mail
• Deposit is applied toward the program fee
• Applicants who are not accepted to the program will be refunded their deposit, less a $75 application processing fee

Internship Abroad ages 20+ Application Instructions

Teach Abroad ages 18+ Application Instructions

Please include the following materials to ensure your application is complete:

• Application form filled out in blue/black ink
• Conditions of participation agreement, signed by participant (included in application form)
• $250 non-refundable deposit (see Deposit & Payment section below)
• Resume
• Chile - Associate's degree & copy of university transcripts or diploma; Thailand - Bachelor's degree & copy of transcripts or diploma
• Chile - 1 letter of reference from employer or professor; Thailand - 2 letters of reference from employer or professor
• Statement of purpose - 2 page essay explaining your reasons for participation, intended goals, what you hope to learn, etc. Please be as detailed as possible. 
• Teaching Initiative Statement - 1 page explaining the contribution you hope to make to your host school and classroom
• Letter to future host family - 300 - 400 words introducing yourself
• 1-3 photos of you with family or friends
• 1 passport photo
• Copy of the photo page of your passport

All Gap program applications must include the following:

• Copy of the photo page of your passport

Additional materials are required, but will depend on the gap program designed for you. Please contact Greenheart Travel for the materials required for your specific Gap program.
