Teach Abroad in Georgia, and live like a local while making a difference!

Next Departure Date: Feb. 28

Deadline to Apply: Feb. 6 - final deadline to apply for a 3.5 month contract!

Greenheart Travel works in partnership with the Georgian Ministry of Education to place enthusiastic and driven teachers in public school positions across this stunning Eurasian country. This unique initiative aspires to significantly improve English proficiency in Georgia, and hopes that the exchange of information, experiences and cultures will create important ties between Georgians and the rest of the world.

Teaching English in the Republic of Georgia is a unique opportunity that allows you to make a tangible difference in the lives and futures of Georgian children.  You will work as a volunteer English-language assistant in a Georgian public school with contracts lasting one or two semesters. This would be ideal for people with backgrounds in international development, those those who considered the Peace Corps, or anyone looking to make a difference while experiencing other cultures. Applicants should be open-minded, flexible, and adventurous.

School Placements

Placements are in public schools across the country, and are made based on where need is at the time. Schools are all 1st grade through 12th grade. Most volunteers work with multiple grade levels, usually with the middle and high schoolers. You can state your preference of location, but Greenheart Travel cannot guarantee placements.

In addition to the public school positions, some volunteers will have the opportunity to teach English or give private lessons of English to the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Police Academy, the President's Administration, school resource officers of the Ministry of Education and Science, some of the local universities, or vocational educational centers.

Volunteers find out their placement during the one week orientation, and should be flexible about where they are placed.
