CCI Area Representatives (ARs) play a critical role in CCI programs in the United States and abroad.

By becoming a CCI Area Representative, you have the opportunity to change the world by bringing cultural exchange to your community. ARs not only place and supervise international students and host families in the United States, but also act as a local source of information to American students wishing to study and travel abroad. Read on to find out more about the incredible benefits both you and your community will receive when you become a CCI Area Representative.

What are the Benefits of Becoming a CCI Area Representative?

By becoming a CCI Area Representative, you will reap limitless rewards both personally and professionally. The benefits of working with CCI include:

  • Develop lasting international friendships both personally and within your local community
  • Earn extra income while working flexible, part-time hours from your home
  • Special Travel Opportunities

What are the Qualifications and Responsibilities of a CCI Area Representative?

CCI Area Representatives come from all walks of life. Many are teachers, nurses, retirees or at-home moms - and others are bankers, lawyers, doctors….you name it! What ARs have in common is a love for working with people of different cultures and backgrounds and a desire to work flexible, part-time hours from home as independent contractors. Area Representative responsibilities generally include:

  • Identifying schools open to international exchange students.
  • Recruiting American families and outbound students interested in international exchange.
  • Matching host families with international students.
  • Providing orientations and group outings for international students and host families.
  • Acting as a support person and counselor for families and international students.

Do CCI Area Representatives Receive Training?

Yes! CCI Regional Directors and Regional Managers train and provide on-going support to new and experienced Area Representatives. CCI has a wide variety of materials and training tools available to you to help you get started.

In addition, many Area Representatives qualify to attend CCI's Annual Conference, which provides additional training and networking opportunities to Area Representatives in a new, exciting destination each year!

What Compensation Do Area Representatives Receive?

In addition to the rewards attached to helping build international friendships, CCI Area Representatives receive a stipend for each student placed/supervised or recruited to travel abroad. Stipends are paid on an independent contractor basis and vary based on the length of stay and type of program.
