U.S. Employers Find Summer Help in Turkey, Ukraine

In March, a group of CCI employers and staff members traveled to Turkey and Ukraine to take part in CCI’s annual summer hiring fairs for the Work & Travel program. They visited the 3 beautiful Turkish cities of Ankara, Eskisehir, and Istanbul before flying to Kiev, Ukraine. As always, the job fairs were expertly organized and provided the employers a great opportunity to meet prospective employees and get to know them, their abilities and interests before offering jobs. For the students, it was an exciting, and in some cases nerve-wracking opportunity to meet the people who would be their bosses all summer.

The schedule was packed, but this energetic group somehow managed to squeeze in quite a bit of fun! Employers and staff enjoyed the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, all the beautiful churches in Kiev, and many delicious traditional meals, many complete with music and dancing.

Although the primary reason for the trip was for CCI employers to do their hiring for the season, it was also a great way to get to know other employers and brainstorm about running successful programs. It was also an amazing opportunity to experience the rich cultures that their students would be coming from. Everyone is already looking forward to the summer!
