GROUP COORDINATOR
for Short-term Group Homestay Programs
Type of Position: Temporary, part-time
Location: Work at home; around the U.S.
CCI is currently seeking candidates in suburbs of major to mid-size cities to coordinate short-term Group Homestay Programs. On the Group Homestay Program, approximately 10 - 15 international high school students come to the United States for a two to three week period with the goal of improving their English and getting to know American culture. GREENHEART TRAVEL CONSULTANTS

Greenheart Travel is a Chicago-based non profit organization looking for enthusiastic travelers in the Chicago area to spread the word about our cultural exchange programs. Greenheart Travel Consultants earn stipends for each participant they refer to us that travels on our programs, plus a free Greenheart Travel program after referring 4 participants!
Who are Greenheart Travel Consultants?
Greenheart Travel Consultants are people who love international travel and want to help others experience its joys and benefits. They are outgoing, social and resourceful individuals who are well connected in their communities or on their campuses. LOCAL COORDINATORS
For the High School Academic Year Program
Type of Position: Contract position (not full-time employment)

We are looking for individuals who:
- are interested in counseling international youth

- are self-starters and passionate about wanting to change the world
CAREER ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM VOLUNTEER INTERN
Type: Unpaid Internship
Hours: negotiable but must be able to commit to at least three days a week
Location: CCI National Office, Chicago, IL
CCI's Career Advancement Program offers international university students, recent graduates and young professionals the opportunity to become an Intern or Trainee with a U.S. business. These structured and guided work-based learning programs must be in the intern or trainee's specific academic or occupational field.
Responsibilities:
- Participant Application Review
- Participant Evaluation Tracking
- Assistance in developing cultural exchange program component including the Greenheart Club
- Assistance with generating ideas for social media updates
- Creating UPS shipments
- Data Entry and Filing
- Possible calling employer leads
- Potential Participant and Host Organization Screening
- Help to design and create electronic mailings
- General assistance with special projects, tasks as assigned
Skills:
- Volunteers should be creative, self-directed, and flexible with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently a must.
- Outgoing personality and experience with and enthusiasm for international travel.
- Must have excellent computer skills with competence in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Photoshop, Acrobat, WordPress, LinkedIn, and various social media outlets
This is an unpaid internship.

WORK PROGRAMS VOLUNTEER INTERN
Type: Unpaid Internship, temporary, 10 weeks with possible extension for an additional 10 weeks
Hours: 12 hours per week minimum; flexible daily hours available Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:30pm
Location: CCI National Office, Chicago, IL
The Center for Cultural Interchange (CCI) has J-1 designation by the U.S. Department of State to bring international university students to the United States through our Work and Travel program for seasonal work experience. The Work Programs Volunteer Intern will assist management staff specifically with developing CCI's Greenheart initiative within the Work and Travel Program and also with day to day program operations. Greenheart is CCI's environmental and social initiative that connects people and planet through environmentalism, fair trade, social transformation, and cross cultural understanding.
Responsibilities:
- Heavy focus on assisting Work Programs staff with developing CCI's Greenheart initiative within the Work and Travel program. This will focus heavily on creating and updating program materials, assisting with mailings, tracking Greenheart project submissions, etc.
- Review and process participant applications
- Assist with answering phones, data entry, UPS shipments/mailings and work on special projects as needed, including assisting with sales and recruitment
Skills:
- Creative, self-directed and flexible
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Outgoing personality and experience with and enthusiasm for international travel
- A genuine desire to contribute to an organization that promotes cultural exchange and environmental consciousness
- Excellent computer skills with competence in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Photoshop, WordPress a plus; knowledge of social media outlets helpful

ACADEMIC YEAR PROGRAM INTERNSHIP
Type: Unpaid Internship
Hours: 15-20 hours per week; 6 month committment
Location: CCI National Office, Chicago, IL
Responsibilities:
Supporting high school exchange program administration through review of program documentation, organization of mailings and general office support.
Skills:
- Working towards or has earned a bachelor's degree
- Solid computer skills with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- A strong desire to learn about the Academic Year high school exchange program
- Creative, self-directed and flexible, excellent organizational skills
- Enthusiasm for international cultural exchange a must!

Department Description: Greenheart, a division of the Center for Cultural Interchange (CCI), is CCI's environmental and social initiative that connects people and planet through environmentalism, fair trade, social transformation, and cross cultural understanding. Greenheart Travel offers work, teach, volunteer, internship, language study, and independent homestay programs for teens and adults in over 20 countries. Greenheart’s concern for the welfare of the planet drives our passion for helping responsible travelers satisfy their thirst for adventure while respecting the environment and unique cultural heritage of the destinations they explore.
Responsibilities:
- Assist management staff with day to day program operations
- Review and process applications
- Manage database
- Assist with marketing initiatives and participant recruitment
- Work on special projects as needed
Skills:
- Efficient and flexible team player
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of web marketing and social media preferred
- Knowledge of SalesForce or similar CRM systems, preferred
- Foreign language skills and travel experience desirable; enthusiasm for international travel a must

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY IN TURKEY

One of CCI's Work and Travel Program Turkish sending partners, ICEP Foundation, now offers internship opportunities throughout the year at its offices in Turkey (Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Eskisehir, Bursa). At present, ICEP has opportunities for students and graduates studying different subjects, such as Marketing, Business, Computer Science and Mathematics. Placement opportunities are in the Marketing, IT, Sales and Operations Divisions. The positions are not paid but ICEP provides lunch, help with accommodation and scholarship of YTL 250/month (approximately USD200/month) from ICEP Foundation.
