F-1 High School Academic Program Assistant

Type: Full-Time, Salaried
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday during regular business hours 9:00am-5:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Location: CCI Greenheart National Office, 712 N Wells St, Chicago, IL

Position Summary: 

The Program Assistant position is within the F-1 High School Academic Department, which facilitates the enrollment of international high school students at public and private school throughout the U.S. The Program Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the department and will be working closely with the Director and Program Manager. This is an entry-level position for someone who is interested in increasing his or her knowledge of the high school sector of the international education market.

Duties include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Assist with the placement of international students in high schools around the country
  • Assist with maintaining student database
  • Create and update high school profile descriptions and other promotional material
  • Manage website updates
  • Create content for blog posts, e-blasts and other social media
  • Coordinate potential interviews and school visits for our video production team
  • Research new schools to add to our portfolio, and perform other web-based market research tasks as needed
  • Review and process student applications, including tracking of missing pieces until the student files are complete
  • Review student evaluations and monthly reports to ensure content is suitable
  • Assist with invoicing and tracking international partner payments and tuition payments to public and private schools
  • Track paperwork for host family payments and ensure accuracy of monthly payments
  • Various administrative duties as assigned (mailings, data entry, etc.)

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree or degree in process
  • Enthusiasm for cultural exchange, travel and/or passion for learning about other cultures
  • Excellent computer skills with competence in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact within groups of all ages, nationalities, ethnicities and backgrounds
  • Cooperative, flexible personality with a willingness to learn, attention to detail and a conscientious work ethic
  • Genuine desire to contribute to an organization that promotes cultural exchange and environmental consciousness
  • Strongly preferred: Experience with living abroad/international travel; second language skills

Regional Director - Academic Year Program

Type: Full time salary employee
Hours: 40+ hours/week
Location: Nationwide, work from home

CCI Greenheart is seeking individuals with previous work experience as a Regional Manager, Director or similar level within a cultural exchange organization. 

The Center for Cultural Interchange (CCI) has J-1 designation by the U.S. Department of State to bring international high school students to the United States through our Academic Year Program, to live with volunteer host families. The Regional Director position is a crucial leadership position within the AYP department, by supervising a team of 20-50 Local Coordinators, and 75-100+ exchange students every year.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to: 

  • Build and supervise a team of Local Coordinators (independent contractors) to facilitate the placing of exchange students with volunteer host families, who will attend high school for a semester or full academic year.
  • Lead the regional team of field staff to ensure timely placement of all students assigned to the region, and that the proper documentation for the placement has been supplied through CCI’s database.
  • Create a development plan for the region, which includes a regional training meeting for LCs.
  • Maintain compliance with Department of State regulations by providing the necessary documentation via the database for all students placed in the region (proper host families, host family information forms and school permission forms, contact logs, etc)
  • Work closely with the staff in the Chicago office through regular email, phone, and skype communication.

Skills: 

  • Previous experience working with a cultural exchange organization
  • Ability to lead and guide a dispersed team
  • Self-motivated, creative and organized
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Outgoing personality and enthusiasm for international exchange
  • Excellent computer skills with competence in Microsoft Office Suite, eager to learn and use new technology, previous database skills a plus
  • Previous work in the field of student exchange and youth counseling skills a plus

Part-time Program Assistant - Career Advancement Program

Type: part-time (hourly between 20-30 hrs/wk)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 20 hours per week, within business hours Mon-Fri 9-5:30
Location: 712 N Wells St, 2nd Fl, Chicago, IL

Within CCI Greenheart, the Career Advancement Program (CAP) Department has J-1 Internship and Trainee designations through the U.S. Department of State to bring international professionals to the United States on a cultural exchange program that allows them intern or train with a U.S. business. CCI Greenheart’s CAP program is dedicated to extending the mission of cultural understanding, environmental consciousness and world peace by connecting enthusiastic international professionals and American Host Organizations. As the only non-profit green J-1 visa sponsor, we pride ourselves on providing a quality experience, while encouraging and enabling CCI Greenheart staff, participants and Host Organizations to work together on projects that promote environmentalism and sustainability.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Filing
  • UPS Shipments
  • Managing CAP weekly meeting agenda/minutes
  • Assistance with phone inquiries
  • Assistance with updating resources
  • Maintaining an orderly shared drive
  • Organizing Evaluations (uploading/tracking)
  • Tracking late participant arrival validations
  • General assistance to CAP staff as necessary
  • Fielding General Inquiries

Regional Manager Position at CCI Greenheart - Academic Year Program

Type: Part time salary employee
Hours: 20+ hours/week
Location: Wisconsin - work from home

CCI Greenheart is seeking individuals with previous work experience as a, Area Coordinator, Regional Manager/Director or similar level within a cultural exchange organization. Applicants without prior experience in the industry will not be considered. (If that is the case, please consider CCI Greenheart’s independent contractor Local Coordinator position.)

Summer Group Coordinator - Short-term Groups and Homestay

Type of Position: Temporary, part-time
Location: Work at home; around the U.S.

CCI Greenheart seeks candidates in suburbs of major to mid-size cities to coordinate short-term Group Homestay Programs. We are actively seeking coordinators for summer 2014 groups in suburbs of the following cities:

On the Group Homestay Program, approximately 10 - 20 international high school students come to the United States for a two to four week period with the goal of improving their English and getting to know American culture. Most groups arrive in summer but planning and recruitment of host families begins 4+ months prior. ESL Student Recruiter - Summer English Academy

The Summer English Academy (SEA) is a unique, three week, summer ESL camp designed exclusively for teenagers, with locations in New York State and Northern California. Student recruiters refer and provide initial screening to potential applicants. Recruiters receive a cash incentive for each student who is accepted and attends the program.
