bio_MeganBhatia  Megan Bhatia, Placement Services Director
Megan was introduced to the international community at a young age thanks to her parents who decided to host exchange students from around the world. Megan graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2002 with a Major in Communication, and a Minor in Spanish, spending her senior year living in Barcelona, Spain. With the spirit of an entrepreneur, Megan enjoyed selling real estate in Chicago for 6+ years, but always knew that international exchange was her passion. At CCI, Megan has been able to bring all the energy she has for international understanding, combining it with the skills she learned working for herself. As the Placement Services Coordinator, her main role is to support the Field Staff who work all across the U.S. placing exchange students in their communities.

Mary Armstrong  Mary Armstrong, Regional Director for Minnesota, North & South Dakota, Idaho, Wyoming & Montana
Mary lives in Minnesota with her husband and 3 children. Mary grew up along the East Coast in a family where the philosophy of open doors was always practiced – whether it was exchange students, professionals, college students, or families in crisis – everyone was welcome. She had the wonderful experience of living abroad with a host family in Nantes, France for a year, which led her into pursuing a degree in French and International Business from University of Georgia. After spending a few years at home with young children, her family began hosting exchange students in 2002 so that they could expose their children to new cultures and experiences. She keeps in contact with many of her students that she hosted over the years. She has worked in the field of high school foreign exchange for many years as a local coordinator and regional manager. Mary is active in her local church, and enjoys downhill skiing, gardening and quilting in her spare time.
bio_ConnieDean.jpg  Connie Dean, Executive Regional Director for the South
Shortly after moving to Texas in 1990, Connie and her husband, Richard, hosted their first exchange student, "Kiko," from Brazil. Although she had been working in Occupational Nursing for over 20 years, Connie accepted a part time position as a local coordinator in student exchange, so she could expose her own children to other cultures and help them to build friendships across the world. Little did Connie know that 16 years later, Kiko would give her family their first "international grandchild," baby Enzo. Having grown up in a small Oklahoma town, Connie didn't have the opportunity to travel much and could only dream of traveling to other countries and learning about other cultures. In 1998, she chose to leave her nursing career and work full time in student exchange. Living in a North Texas community, Connie and Richard enjoy traveling, gardening, and most of all, the love of our grandchildren.

Grant just recently remarried and moved with his wife Patti to Mesquite, NV. He also has a home in Utah, where he was raised and lived until his move to Mesquite. Grant spent many years in sales and has also run several of his own businesses. But, none of this was as important as his passion for exchange students. He originally became interested in the international realm after serving in the Air force, where he was stationed in Japan. Since that time, he has worked with students from 40 different countries over 15 years either as a host family, coordinator, or manager. His family has grown from 7 children and 20 grand-children (as if that wasn’t enough) to children all over the world. Grant has a personal desire to bring peace and understanding into a world where wars and strife loom in the headlines. It is his sincere belief that through the cultural exchange of ideas, love can be found and the world can be a better place…one student at a time.
