Special Volunteer Opportunities for Greenheart Travel Participants

Anyone can travel abroad; it's what you do with the experience that makes a difference. Greenheart Travel provides you with the opportunity to travel for a change and make a positive impact on your host community through participation in the Greenheart Travel Club or Greenheart Travel Grants.

How it Works

For High School Abroad participants
Once you have been accepted to a High School Abroad program, you can join the Greenheart Travel Club. The Greenheart Travel Club recognizes you for your volunteering and community outreach efforts while abroad. You log volunteer hours in the Greenheart Travel database and then are awarded for your efforts.

For Teach and Volunteer Abroad participants
After becoming immersed in your host community, you can apply for a Greenheart Travel Grant. If you want to support and collaborate with your new community in a sustainable way, you can apply for a Greenheart Travel Grant to receive funding for a community project. Additionally, once your program is complete and you have had time to reflect on your experience you can put your lessons learned into action by applying for Greenheart Travel Grant to complete a project back at home.
