The Greenheart Shop had a great time last Thursday night when we co-hosted, along with the South African Consulate and Chicago Fair Trade, a South African Action Evening! The Consulate had a group of women Fair Trade artisans from South Africa in Chicago for the week learning about the US Fair Trade market, meeting with potential vendors, and hanging out with the Greenheart Shop (of course). They kicked off the evening with a South African jewelry beadwork demonstration where we learned the traditional significance and meaning of various colors used in designs.
