Training Camp for Physically Disabled Children in Rajasthan

The disabled children of Rajasthan are in need of the same educational opportunities that the rest of the children in the area are provided. During the camp, the children are able to focus on receiving quality academic instruction and participating in creative recreational activities allowing them greater self-expression and a sense of belonging.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers will provide education and computer training, as well as organizing sports and games from the children. There are also a limited amount of positions available to help at the camp through physiotherapy.
Location
Volunteers will be in the state of Rajasthan, the most often visited region of India.
Orientation
Volunteers will by picked up from the airport in Delhi and stay the first night in a hotel arranged by CCI. Participants will then be transported to Jaipur for the beginning of their orientation. During your four-day orientation you will dine one night with a local, English speaking family, learn about cultural differences, health and safety, local customs and language, as well as any additional information you will need to know for your project. You will also have a guided tour to the Amber Fort with an elephant ride.

In Rajasthan volunteers will stay at a “base-camp." All meals are included at the “base-camps” and are prepared by project staff. There will be many vegetarian options available, and meat is generally prepared 2-3 times per week.
