Retirement Home
Project Details
This retirement home is a private residence for the elderly in a quiet city neighborhood. It is situated in a large house with a big garden out back in order to create a warm and comfortable atmosphere. With over twenty residents, the home is a great place for building lasting friendships between all residents as well as with the volunteers. The main goal of the home is to provide the elderly with a place where they are able to receive the care they need and to enjoy their own future.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers are needed to help with the daily tasks at the project site including visiting with the patients, organizing activities, helping to administer care, various administrative duties, and always providing a warm smile and ears to listen.
Location
The home is located in the city of Cordoba, about 10 hours northwest of Buenos Aires. All volunteers will be taken to their host family upon arrival and given an orientation within the first few days.
Accommodations and Meals
Volunteers will stay with carefully screened host families for the duration of the program. Two meals a day with your host family are included in your stay.
**No meals are served on Sundays.
Requirements
Minimum commitment is 8 weeks. A desire to work with the elderly is necessary. An intermediate level of Spanish is required. Spanish lessons are available prior to the volunteer project in Cordoba for an additional fee.
