Day-Care, School, and Recreation Center for Disabled Children
Project Details
Recognized by the Argentine government, the center serves many children who are mentally and/or physically disabled. There is a professional day-care, both a primary and secondary school, a recreation center, and space for professional skill-building workshops. Studentsfrom the school participate actively in their community and often show many of their art projects in local galleries. Apart from the educational and recreational activities, the center also offers many workshops for families and caregivers of disabled persons thus educating them and attempting to erase society’s stereotypes about disabilities.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers are needed to help in the day-care, give support to classroom teachers, help students with homework after school, assist with workshops for parents and community members, engage in community outreach efforts, and provide general support to both the children and families.
Location
The Center is located in the city of Cordoba, about 10 hours northwest of Buenos Aires. All volunteers will be taken to their host family upon arrival and given an orientation within the first few days.

**No meals are served on Sundays.
