Language Schools for Adults in Spain (17+)

There is no better way to learn a language than to study it in the country where it is spoken. CCI offers excellent language school programs in 5 exciting Spanish cities. Each program includes 20 hours of class per week, room and board with host families (except Valencia) and a variety of activities and excursions to help you make the most of your time in Spain.

Salamanca:  Spaniards call Salamanca “La Dorada,” the Golden City, because of the golden hue cast by the centuries-old limestone buildings. This city is also world-famous for being one of Europe’s oldest university towns. Students from Spain as well as all over the world still congregate in the Golden City, speaking Castilian, the “purest” Spanish. In addition to programs for adults 17 and over, CCI also offers a summer program for junior participants ages 14-16.

Valencia:  Beautiful Mediterranean beaches and the constant cheery sunlight that bless this city make it a stunning and tranquil place to learn and practice Spanish. The capital city of the Valencia province, it is also home to the Holy Grail and horchata, a local drink made from ground tigers nuts. And don't forget to taste the famous paella this city is known for: a rice dish cooked over an open fire.

Madrid:  World famous museums such as the Prado and the Reina Sofia Art Center make this city a favorite among art lovers. Madrid is also well-known as the birthplace of la movida, the intense, exciting nightlife that captivates visitors and residents alike. Madrid is recommended for participants who wish to experience a cosmopolitan European lifestyle. Participants must be 17 +.

Barcelona:  A hub of urban sophistication, Barcelona is filled with fine food, designer shopping, a hip artists’ scene, unusual and extraordinary architecture, and a nightlife that rivals any city. When you need a break from the city’s stimulating atmosphere, the beach and the warm Mediterranean waters invite you to rest for a moment. Participants must be 18 +.

Granada:  Located in the Andalusia region of Spain, Granada is an outstanding destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The city is situated at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, so fantastic skiing in the winter and beautiful hiking in the summer are easily accessible. The beaches of the Costa del Sol are an hour away and easily reached by bus. The nearby Alhambra, an ornate hilltop palace built by the last Muslim rulers of Spain, is one of the world’s greatest landmarks. Participants must be 18 +.
