CCI Scholarships and Discounts

CCI strives to provide interesting and affordable opportunities to all participants interested in cultural exchange. We are happy to offer scholarships designed to encourage reciprocal exchange, academic excellence and the discovery of new destinations worldwide.

High School Abroad Program Scholarship

Description:
Each year, CCI will grant one scholarship in the amount of $1,000 for a High School Abroad Program.

Restrictions:
Applicants must be applying to participate in a semester-length or academic year-length program. Applicants may be planning to participate beginning in either Fall or Spring semester, but all applications for the upcoming school year must be received by March 1. A scholarship recipient will be determined and notified by April 1.

Qualifications:
In addition to meeting the regular requirements for participation, and submitting a complete application, successful scholarship candidates must also submit an essay, which describes the following:

Why do you want to study abroad?
What do you expect to gain from the experience?
Why do you believe that you will be a successful participant in this program?
How do you expect the experience to impact your future?

A scholarship recipient will be selected based on the quality of their application and essay.

Applicants who are not awarded a scholarship, but who are otherwise qualified, will be welcome to participate in the High School Abroad Program for the standard program fee.

High School Abroad Early Bird Discount
Apply early! High School applications received at least 7 months before departure date entitle you to a $300 discount of program fees! Deadlines: January 2 for Fall semester enrollment; June 1 for Spring Semester enrollment.

Host Family Circle Scholarships
CCI American host families are deeply generous people who open their hearts and homes to international students and adults. CCI encourages host family members to expand their own cultural experience by taking advantage of the Host Family Circle Scholarships, a program that provides scholarships on CCI Discovery Abroad Programs to host family members.

Academic Year/Semester Host Families

$500 Scholarship - All current* semester and academic year host families can receive a $500 scholarship for a host brother or sister to participate in a High School Abroad Program.
$150 Scholarship - All current semester and academic year host families can receive a $150 scholarship for any immediate member of the host family to participate in any CCI Short Term Program Abroad.

For families who are not currently hosting, but who have hosted for at least one academic year within the last five years, host brothers and sisters may receive a $350 Scholarship to participate in a High School Abroad Program, or a $100 Scholarship for any immediate member of the host family to participate in any CCI Short Term Program Abroad.

For current host families who have hosted repeatedly, the $500 Scholarship for a High School Abroad Program can be increased by $50 for each additional academic year of hosting within the last five years, for a maximum scholarship amount of $750.

Similarly, for current host families who have hosted repeatedly, the $150 Scholarship for a CCI Short Term Program Abroad can be increased by $15 for each additional academic year of hosting within the last five years, for a maximum scholarship amount of $225.

* Current is defined as a family who is currently hosting or has hosted within the 12 month period prior to application for the program abroad.

Short Term Host Families

$250 Scholarship - All current volunteer short term host families (family's who have hosted students for 3 months or less, and have not received a financial stipend for hosting) can receive a $250 scholarship for a host brother or sister to participate in a High School Abroad Program.
$75 Scholarship - All current short term host families (family's who have hosted students for 3 months or less, and have not received a financial stipend for hosting) can receive a $75 scholarship for any immediate member of the host family to participate in any CCI Short Term Program Abroad.

For families who are not currently hosting, but who have hosted at least one Short Term CCI student within the last five years, host brothers and sisters my receive an $80 Scholarship to participate in a High School Abroad Program, or a $25 Scholarship for any immediate member of the host family to participate in any CCI Short Term Program Abroad.

For current host families who have hosted repeatedly, the $250 Scholarship for a High School Abroad Program can be increased by $25 for each additional student hosted within the last five years for a maximum scholarship of $375.

Similarly, for current host families who have hosted repeatedly, the $75 Scholarship for a CCI Short Term Program Abroad can be increased by $10 for each additional student hosted within the last five years, for a maximum scholarship amount of $125
