Multinational
Environmental Program
in New York
Organized in Conjunction with the State University of New York (SUNY) at Ulster County Community College
Just a couple hours north of New York City, the scenic Hudson River Valley is renowned for its historic landmarks, restaurants, festivals and natural beauty. The diverse terrain – from underground caverns to mountain peaks – make a perfect laboratory for studying the most pressing issues facing our planet. Participants will have an opportunity to refresh their English language skills, learn about American culture and college life, and gain a better appreciation of environmental issues. Topics that will be emphasized in classes and field trips include: air/water/soil pollution, community activism, human impact on geology/glaciation, ecosystems, endangered species, and environmental influences on local artists and writers. Homestay with local American host families will provide participants a unique window into American life and chance to improve their English skills.
Note: Participants should be physically capable of hiking a few miles each day.
